Never content to settle on the mil-spec, Faxon manufactured enhancements directly into the Forged Upper Receiver. Forged from 7075-T6 Aluminum, the receiver is then trued at the factory to make sure the barrel and barrel nut fit perfectly. Next, they hone the inside bore to smooth out the action of the bolt carrier group. Tighter tolerances on the lugs ensure a solid fit between the upper and lower receiver. The hollowed out shell deflector not only looks great, it reduces some unnecessary weight and allows for better ejection of spent casings.
