A direct descendant of the HK416, the MR556 is a semi-automatic 5.56 NATO rifle with a 16.5" barrel and HK's proprietary gas piston system, which uses a piston and solid operating rod instead of a gas tube so hot fouling stays out of the receiver. A Picatinny rail is machined into the top of the upper receiver for optics and sights, and the handguard takes M-LOK accessories. Ships with one 10-round magazine (81000580).
