Jaw inserts slip over the factory jaws of your Brownells Gunsmith's Bench Vise. They are faced with different materials to grip parts securely while minimizing risk of damaging or scratching them.

Rubber Jaws (this variant)

Rubber jaws are designed for holding very delicate wood and plastic parts, as well as thin-walled tubes. They use a soft, synthetic rubber facing for gentle clamping pressure. The rubber is backed by three layers of canvas to counter the rubber’s springiness and provide stiffness to hold the part securely.

Insert construction (general)

Insert bodies are made from lightweight, strong aluminum and are held in place on the vise by powerful rare-earth magnets. The aluminum prevents the magnets from magnetizing steel parts held in the jaws.
