This Ruger AR-556 rifle is built from 7075-T6 hard-coat anodized aluminum forgings and uses a shot-peened and proof-tested 9310 steel bolt and 8620 steel bolt carrier. The bolt carrier and gas key are chrome plated and staked for longevity. It features a heavy-contour, cold hammer-forged alloy barrel with 1:8 twist, chambered in 5.56 NATO for use with both .223 and 5.56 ammunition. The barrel and Ruger flash hider have a matte black oxide finish to reduce glare and provide corrosion resistance. It also features an 11 inch aluminum handguard that is free-floating for accuracy and Magpul M-LOK accessory attachment slots.
