The Switchblock barrel is specifically designed for carbine style gas systems. The unique design of the barrel allows it to be used with both carbine and pistol gas systems. Reducing weight by switching the gas block from carbine to pistol gas is a big advantage the Switchblock barrel has going for it. The Switchblock barrel allows the shooter to have a lighter rifle that still performs admirably in a carbine style gas system. The barrel also features a chrome lined gas port to reduce internal wear. This feature also allows the shooter to clean the bore easier, which decreases the cleaning frequency of a carbine style barrel.
