Proof Research barrels are produced in-house from double-stress relieved 416R stainless steel, pre-hardened chromium steel. Each barrel is drilled, contoured, and reamed to bore diameter, then cut rifled, lapped, and inspected via borescope to ensure consistency and accuracy.
The aerospace-grade carbon fiber used provides high specific strength and stiffness versus stainless steel.
