Aluma-Hyde II Spray-On Gun Finish

Brownells Aluma-Hyde II is a spray-on gun finish formulated with a hard-curing epoxy base and high-density pigment for a durable coating that adheres to properly prepared aluminum/alloy surfaces, steel, and plastics (including synthetic stocks). It is designed for increased resistance to bore cleaners, solvents, and other cleaning chemicals, including trichloroethylene.

• No primer required on properly prepared clean bare metal or anodized surfaces
• Solvent-proof to all but the most aggressive, copper-removing bore solvents after full cure
• Dries to touch in minutes; full cure in about a week
• Includes a Clean Out Nozzle (required before each use to prevent clogs in the nozzle/pickup tube)

Instructions (high level)

• Surface prep: No priming required. Surface should be dry and free of oil, wax, dirt, loose paint, and other contaminants. Painted surfaces should be washed with a cleaner degreaser.
• Prep can: Shake vigorously until the ball rattles, then shake 2 minutes more. Use between 70°F and 90°F (not below 65°F) for best results.
• Spray distance: Hold approx. 12 inches away; fully depress valve to spray.
• Cure: Dries to light touch in 10–15 minutes. Wait 24 hours or more before extensive handling. If recoating, apply within 30 minutes; otherwise allow 10–14 days before recoating.

Clean Out Nozzle (included)

Pull the standard nozzle upward off the can and replace with the cleanout nozzle to clear semi-hardened paint residue from the pickup tube and nozzle. Replace with the original spray nozzle after clearing.
