ALUMA-HYDE II

Aluma-Hyde II is a fast-curing, epoxy-based spray-on gun finish with increased resistance to bore cleaners, solvents, and other cleaning chemicals.

After full cure, Aluma-Hyde II proved solvent-proof to all but the most aggressive copper-removing bore solvents.

The finish uses a hard-curing epoxy base with additional high-density pigment for a durable coating that sticks to properly prepared aluminum and alloy surfaces, steel, and plastics (including synthetic stocks). No primer coat is required for a tough, abrasion-resistant, rustproof finish.

Clean Out Nozzle

Each can includes a Clean Out Nozzle that must be used before each use to prevent clogs in the nozzle and pickup tube. Once clear, replace with the original spray nozzle for application.

Application (high-level)

• Prep the surface: No priming required on clean, bare metal or anodized surfaces. Surface should be dry and free of oil, wax, dirt, loose paint, and other contaminants.
• Prep the can: Shake until the ball rattles, then shake for 2 minutes more (recommended 70–90°F).
• Spray: Hold about 12 inches from the work surface and fully depress the valve; shake periodically.
• Cure:
  • Dries to a light touch in ~10–15 minutes; wait 24 hours or more before extensive handling.
  • Full cure is about a week; recoat timing depends on film thickness, temperature, and humidity.
