What is Aluma-Hyde II?

Aluma-Hyde II is a spray-on gun finish with a hard-curing epoxy base that resists bore cleaners, solvents, and other cleaning chemicals (including trichloroethylene). After full cure, it has proven solvent-proof to all but the most aggressive copper-removing bore solvents.

Included

Each can includes a Clean Out Nozzle to be used before each use to prevent clogs in the nozzle and pickup tube. (Additional clean out nozzles are sold separately.)

Surface preparation

• No priming required on clean, bare metal or anodized surfaces
• Surface must be dry and free of oil, wax, dirt, loose paint, and other contaminants

Instructions (summary)

1. Prep the surface
2. Prep the can: Shake vigorously until the ball inside rattle is moving; then shake 2 minutes more. Use between 70°F and 90°F (not below 65°F).
3. Initial clearing spray: Point can in a safe direction and depress valve until spray is consistent.
4. Spray: Hold can about 12 inches from the work surface and fully depress valve.
5. Cure: Apply second coat within 30 minutes if needed. Allow 10–14 days cure before recoating.
6. Handling: Dries to touch in about 10–15 minutes; wait 24 hours before extensive handling.
