Brownells Aluma-Hyde II

Aluma-Hyde II is a hard-curing epoxy-based spray-on gun finish that resists bore cleaners, solvents, and other cleaning chemicals, including trichloroethylene.

• 12 oz (340 g) aerosol can

Instructions (high level)

• Prep the surface: dry, free of oil/wax/dirt/loose paint/contaminants; painted surfaces should be washed with a degreaser
• Prep can: use between 70–90°F (not below 65°F). Shake vigorously until the ball rattles, then shake 2 minutes more
• Spray: hold about 12 inches from the surface; fully depress the valve
• Cure: dries to light touch in 10–15 minutes; wait 24 hours before extensive handling
• For recoating: apply a second coat within 30 minutes; after 30 minutes allow 10–14 days before recoating

Speed cure (optional)

• Bake the part for 3.5 hours at 195°F, then cool before applying another coat.
